Data Without Doctoring Dr. David Owen 08/22/2020

Morning update: The news is rather bland. That's because it is consistently soooo good. I'm getting inured (wow) to the daily goodness. All trends confirmed for easing of the pandemic in Florida and south counties. Statewide % positive tests are now well below 5% (grain of salt alert, but PH officials insist on using this). This is the 3rd straight day of daily deaths under 120 with many still being assigned to the last two weeks of July and less to the first two weeks of August, which is interesting. It looks to me that we will have no days with 200 deaths in our rough month of July which refutes the media and modelling warning of a tsunami. One could argue the absolute number is high but it's relatively very very small for a population of 21.5 mill. Covid beds continue to decline significantly for all three counties and Broward ICU beds is no longer critical (although that could change with next week's elective surgical cases).

Another interesting pocket of increased deaths is going to be the period Aug. 3-5, again precisely one month after the July 4th holiday. Let that be a warning to the party animals getting ready for labor day. You congregate without distancing/masks, you WILL get sick. It is thrilling to see this pandemic ebb so decisively at this time but I await the next mini-spike which should occur in Sept. with the holidays (Jewish included) and school openings. Bed report tonight on my Facebook page, and Frank Mulhall's media pages. ___ www.frankcastingmediagroup.com www.frankmulhall.com
