Data Without Doctoring Dr. David Owen 08/20/2020

Morning update: Outside of a glaring misprint for PBC covid hospitalizations (which apparently have doubled from 331 to 606) the numbers all look good. Recorded deaths were down today, one of the lowest numbers we have seen on any Thursday in a while. Hospitalizations were up in the state, likely incorporating the misprinted PBC numbers. Dade and Broward hospitalizations were lower and a check of % available PBC general beds reveals no significant change so we'll have to wait for a correction to the PBC covid bed numbers. Deaths being assigned to the past two weeks are at a lower number than previous two week periods, suggesting that the anticipated slowing in deaths may have arrived. The two days with the highest death numbers are still in the July16-20th time frame with no days over 170 since then, save for one. This supports my observation above. % positive covid tests is still falling nicely for the state and is close to 5% in PBC. A couple of days in this vicinity is all the doctor ordered to compel PH officials, BofEd, teachers unions to get the schools opened.

All things considered, resolution of the pandemic continues and the time is ripe for continued reopening of facilities ___ www.frankcastingmediagroup.com www.frankmulhall.com
