Progressive policies are largely responsible for laying waste to the greatest American industrial city, ever. I have a special affinity for Detroit. It was the automobile industry that provided my grandfather the opportunity to move from immigrant child coal mine laborer, to automobile entrepreneur and bank vice president. Detroit was literally an engine of American prosperity and upward mobility that has been nearly destroyed by wrong-headed progressive social and economic policies.
