The House Democrats voted to impeach President Trump tonight. I almost wish that I wasn't an attorney, and didn't have degrees in Government and Law. Then I would be blissfully unaware of how serious what has been happening the last three (3) years … more particularly for the last several weeks … has been to the rule of law and the stability of the republic. While we can all argue about the law and politics … what hasn't been taken into account is the sociological cost. For the first time it has become clear that the rift that has been created by corrupt, self serving politicians, bureaucrats and legacy media is now irreparable. There is no turning back.
This revelation came tonight as I was reading the comments to a liberal friend's celebratory impeachment post. One commenter demanded, "[T]ell my why every republican [sic] that is yelling and crying about the impeachment sounds [sic] like an extra on Hee Haw" [sic] (I'll leave aside that this person is from a small town in Western New York whose main attraction is a ski hill and fish pond located in a "Japanese Garden"). The comment is the perfect manifestation of illiberal liberalism ... without an ounce of self awareness ... only contempt.
The sides have been drawn. The battle begins. I tried to warn you. But, rest assured, my commentary will no longer endeavor to educate or convince the Opposition. I have concluded … that simply isn't possible. Enjoy the video …
