Adversity is the great revealer. It reveals character, strength, and weakness. For all of the trouble we found in 2020, one of its most revealing truths has been the superficial conditionality of our relationships that became so easily destroyed by the weaponized emotions of our politics. Threats of physical violence and revenge tripped so easily off the tongues of so many revealing the selfishness of their political objectives and the utter depravity of their hearts and minds. Sometimes life pushes us in directions that may have been more suitable had we chosen them for ourselves. In retrospect ... I'm grateful for that 'push.' Praising God for clarity and the end to far too many superficial, conditional and unhealthy associations in 2020. (Romans 8:28)
