The Politics of Abuse

Have you ever noticed how the concern about child sex trafficking waxes and wanes with the politics of the day ... but never really takes its rightful place in the pantheon of daily moral outrage? There's a reason for that. I've said it repeatedly ... because it's true. The truth is that there are just a lot of people who believe that it's okay to use children for their own sexual gratification. We live in a culture that looks the other way when its surgically-ethereal sequined-gloved-lost-my-childhood-so-its-okay icons give engagement rings to and throws shares-his-bed sleepovers with little boys without embarrassment, apology or remorse ... attending, defending and contributing to the financial well being of churches that violate the bodies and trust of their most vulnerable parishioners without public recrimination or punishment of the law ... and send its boys to become men overseen by sexual-vampire-scout leaders who rob them of their childhood and derail their psychosexual development and irrevocably undermine their masculinity.

We live in a culture that trades the wellbeing of our children like poker chips ignoring the sexual trafficking of children in hopes of importing of a political majority that will assure progressive political hegemony. It's nothing short of perverse. #beingfrank #blueintheface #FMG
