For my part, there is nothing more reprehensible than someone who trades on their purported relationship with their god for personal, financial or political reasons. Muslim Congresswoman, Rashida Tlaib, has traded on her historic and celebrated standing as a Muslim Congresswoman. She bucked tradition by wrapping herself in a Palestinian flag to celebrate her electoral victory and insisted upon being sworn in with her hand on the Quran. Her first official act was to inarticulately pronounce the President a bully and motherfucker that she intended to impeach. She's defended this behavior by stating that:
“I’ve always been this way. No one expects me to be anything but myself. The girl from Southwest Detroit. The little sass and attitude,” Tlaib said. “I think President Trump has met his match. I don’t like bullies. I go after them the same way they go after us. And he’s just going to have to deal.”
But, she's wrong. Allah expects her to be something other than her base, vulgar and profane self. Islam calls her to a higher standard. But, I'm not sure she knows about that 'call' ... or Islam. She seemed to be insensitive to and not sensible of her irreconcilable violation of the admonition about swearing oaths with your hand on what she says she believes is Allah's Word. She inexplicably and unapologetically violated the admonitions concerning the use of profanity, and the treatment of and example for Muslim children.
Understand, Congresswoman Tlaib … you are expected to be something other than 'yourself'. I don't know where you think you 'learned' that … but it certainly wasn't Islam … the religion and god you purport is of importance to you.
