Sunday, December 2: Lighting a candle tonight in solidarity with my Jewish brothers and sisters in remembrance of Mattathias the Hasmonean, his son Judah Maccabee, and the Chasidim, who joined forces, revolted against assimilation of Hellenistic Jews and Seleucid oppression to re-take control of the Temple and put an end to its desecration.
