Data Without Doctoring Dr. David Owen 09/17/2020
Morning update: No overall change with continued decline in covid hospitalizations statewide and in the tricounty area. %covid beds is now down to 5.16%. Deaths (147 today) still continue to be added to the last week of July and first two weeks of Aug. with close to 1/2 of the days in July during that time period with over 200 deaths per day. The first week of Aug. may have as many as 4 of the 7 days with over 200 deaths daily as well. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is, to see deaths still being recorded for a period of over 1.5-2 months ago. I'm revising death estimates for the second week of Aug. to probably be around 175 per day once all are recorded a month or so from now!! The number will decline precipitously after that. Today, hospitalizations are noted to be declining in all the tricounty area which continues to be good news. Of interest, daily positive tests continue to range between 2-4k for a few weeks now, which I really believe represents retesting of positive individuals, unlike what is stated in the media. How this correlates with continued declines in hospitalizations is a mystery, unless, of course we are simply repeating tests in people who are still covid positive. Still no evidence of any significant consequence of the past Labor day weekend. We'll see what tomorrow night brings. ___ www.frankcastingmediagroup.com
