We are pleased that Dr. David Owen will be joining the “being frank …” conversation. With over thirty years of surgical oncological experience, now retired, Dr. Owen is a preeminent South surgeon and former operator of the first free-standing non-hospital based breast center where he developed and implemented cutting edge sentinel node biopsy and intradermal injection, stereotactic core, and fine needle aspiration biopsy diagnostic modalities that provided immediate diagnostic results to patients and significantly advanced lifesaving breast cancer treatment.
Dr. Owen holds a BA in Biology from the University of Virginia and earned his medical degree from NYU Medical School. He received his surgical training at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, the North Central Bronx Hospital, and Hospital at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was a Surgical Oncology Fellow at the Stehlin Foundation for Cancer at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Owen has spent his professional life evaluating and scrutinizing clinical trials and medical data. It is his passion. We are fortunate that he will be sharing that passion with us.
