Night report: Sounding like a broken record, continued improvement. % covid beds statewide is down to 8.73% with bed utilization in the tri-county area also diminished. Again we see the ebb and flow of bed utilization which is due to non covid patients as the absolute number of covid patients in hospitals continues to decline. With the planned opening of entertainment venues we will have to watch for another spike, which will definitely occur if we do not behave. One note about testing. I really believe we are moving toward the testing of higher risk individuals, such as health care workers and for surveillance of infected patients. This will serve to keep the %positive test elevated and our PH officials using this number to affect opening decisions should note that the % positive test is probably much lower in the general population considered at normal risk. ___ www.frankcastingmediagroup.com www.frankmulhall.com
