Byrds of a Feather

Robert C. Byrd was a member of the KKK, and served as Democrat United States Senator for over 50 years. He was, at one time, a rabid racist and race baiter. Democrat Presidential hopeful, Joe Biden, eulogized Byrd at his funeral in 2013.* There are any number of roads, bridges, and buildings named after him. The naming of a building is a public honor. It confers honorary status upon the person.

The omnipresence of a KKK member throughout American public buildings, landmarks, public roads, and academic institutions sends an offensive message and ... I suspect ... is an affront to the black community. It's time to renames these locations and remove the statues and portraits of his likeness at these locations. ___________
